The Santiago Stock Exchange is located in the historic center of the Santiago commune. It was founded in 1893 and developed in different buildings before building its current building in 1917. Designed by the architect Emilio Jécquier, it has a French Renaissance style. It has four floors with a basement, highlighting the Wheel Room in the first. The building was declared a Historical Monument in 1981 and has witnessed the economic changes in the country. Its surroundings were also declared a Typical Zone in 1989.
